HISTORY

1923 – University studies and research in wood science started at Poznań University within the Faculty of Agriculture and Forestry
1954 – Faculty of Wood Technology was established at Higher School of Agriculture
1972 – Agricultural University of Poznań
2008 – Poznań University of Life Sciences

PRESENT STRUCTURE

Poznań University of Life Sciences consists of 8 faculties:

  • Faculty of Agronomy and Bioengineering
  • Faculty of Forestry
  • Faculty of Animal Breeding and Biology
  • Faculty of Wood Technology
  • Faculty of Horticulture and Landscape Architecture
  • Faculty of Food Science and Nutrition

FACULTY OF WOOD TECHNOLOGY

Undergraduate education – an engineer degree (7 semesters) in 3 courses:
– wood technology, 4 specializations:
        (a) mechanical wood technology,
        (b) chemical wood technology,
        (c) wood protection and modification,
        (d) furniture design,
– furniture design
– biocomposites engineering

Graduate education – a master degree (3 semesters) in wood technology, 4 specializations,
PhD studies (8 semesters) in wood technology.
Total number of students (undergraduate and graduate programs): 470, total number of PhD students: 25.
