RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN PURCHASE PRICES OF LIVE CATTLE AND RETAIL PRICES OF BEEF PRODUCTS AND CUTS IN POLAND AND SOME EU COUNTRIES DURING 2004-2007



Abstract

The study was conducted in 2004-2007 to analyse the purchase prices of live cattle (zloty/kg) paid to agricultural producers and retail prices of different beef products and cuts (zloty/kg) in Poland and selected EU countries. The proportion of retail prices of beef products and cuts (%) in Poland, Germany and Holland was calculated. Pearson correlation was used to calculate the relationship between purchase prices of live cattle and retail prices of beef products and cuts in Poland, Germany and Holland.
